Today I achieved an important professional milestone: I became an approved trainer with the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS) in the category of Business Operations and Management.
What is TECPDS?
For those unfamiliar, TECPDS is Texas’s official professional development and workforce registry for early childhood professionals. Trainers approved through TECPDS meet the state’s rigorous qualifications and are recognized as trusted providers of professional learning for childcare leaders, directors, and administrators.
Why This Matters
As childcare owners and directors know, the business side of childcare is often the most overwhelming. While classroom curriculum and compliance are critical, success ultimately depends on strong financial management, enrollment growth, and operational systems.
By becoming a TECPDS-approved trainer in Business Operations and Management, I am able to:
- Deliver state-recognized professional development that counts toward annual training requirements for directors and administrators.
- Equip childcare leaders with practical, real-world strategies to strengthen their programs, manage budgets, and lead with confidence.
- Bridge the gap between education and entrepreneurship, ensuring schools are not just nurturing children but also thriving as sustainable businesses.
My Mission as a Trainer
I know firsthand what it takes to run and grow childcare centers—I’ve owned, operated, and sold schools myself. That lived experience allows me to deliver trainings that are actionable, relevant, and tested in the real world.
Through this TECPDS credential, I can now serve even more directors and administrators across Texas, helping them gain credit hours while learning strategies that truly move the needle on profitability, enrollment, and leadership.
Looking Ahead
Becoming a TECPDS-approved trainer is one more way I’m committed to raising the bar for childcare leadership and business training. I look forward to working with directors, owners, and administrators to strengthen the foundation of early education in Texas.
